Today, Oliver Molander, Caroline Cronstedt and Erik Lindblad are officially launching Inception Fund, a new day-zero fund backing the boldest technical founding teams with a New Nordic connection, building within B2B software and AI. Peter Sarlin joins as a founding partner, consolidating PostScriptum’s New Nordic early-stage activities and investments under the fund.
The inaugural €21M angel and pre-seed focused micro fund closed in less than six months, with a heavily oversubscribed close over the summer.
The fund is backed by Swedish institutional investor Saminvest, alongside a long list of leading Nordic AI and tech entrepreneurs and founder’s offices. Limited Partners include, among others, Peter Sarlin (PostScriptum), Sebastian Knutsson (King), Taavet Hinrikus and Sten Tamkivi (Skaala, Skype and Wise), Carl-Henric Svanberg (Swedish AI Commission), Martin Wattin (Inbox Capital), Staffan Truve (Recorded Future) and John Lindfors (DST Global), together with key players from AI labs such as OpenAI and DeepMind, founders from Nordic AI startups including Lovable, Sana, Legora and Tandem Health, and Chief Data & AI Officers from enterprise brands like H&M, Nokia and Supercell.
The fund’s daily operations are carried out by the founding GPs, Oliver Molander, Caroline Cronstedt and Erik Lindblad. This builds on PostScriptum’s existing angel investments in next-generation Nordic AI startups such as Lovable, Legora and Tandem Health.
We see this as a natural extension of what we already believe: the Nordics have the technical talent to build globally competitive companies, and what often makes the difference is the capital to back the most ambitious teams at the earliest, highest-risk stage. Bringing our AI research background and network into the Inception ecosystem is a way to contribute directly to that.
The fund has been active since late summer and has already backed brilliant technical founding teams with strong Nordic and Baltic ties, including Tzafon, Vesence, Dentio, Marly AI, Vantel, Scape, Agaton, Scorable AI and Ethira, alongside several more still in stealth.
