PostScriptum, the founder’s office of AI entrepreneur and researcher Peter Sarlin, is on a mission to build generational AI companies out of Europe. After launching PostScriptum in 2013 alongside his research group, the company spun out a core team and an AI platform to create Silo AI in 2017. In 2024, Silo AI was sold in Europe’s then largest AI acquisition to AMD.
Europe has real advantages in compute, data, and talent. But it struggles to translate that into market-leading, scalable businesses that can leap-frog the current concentrated tech model. Closing that gap requires bolder, more ambitious technology platforms – built at scale and sensitive to market opportunities that incumbents struggle to serve. This is what PostScriptum is built to drive.
PostScriptum, or PS, aims to supercharge the pursuit to develop state-of-the-art AI and AI-native companies in Europe that transform and create new business. Its activities take three shapes:
PS builds cutting-edge AI companies by being the cradle of NestAI, Qutwo, and Silo AI. NestAI is a leading European defence AI company, and Qutwo is a next-gen AI lab for the quantum era. Through a recent commitment, PostScriptum is also building quantum hardware to power quantum computers for the million-qubit era.
With Foundation PS, PostScriptum aims to drive long-term research excellence by strengthening the AI research community. After an inaugural donation of 13 PS Fellow professorships to form the initial ELLIS Institute Finland, it has in one year grown to over 50 AI professors, each an internationally recognized scholar with funding to build a world-class research group.
To drive the ecosystem, PS invests in the most transformative European AI companies, with a portfolio that includes among others Lovable, Legora, Tandem Health, ICEYE, IQM, CuspAI, PhysicsX, Bottlecap AI, Recursive, AMI Labs, Base Camp Research and Prior Labs (acquired by SAP).
PostScriptum is on a mission to build generational AI companies out of Europe.
While putting state-of-the-art AI at the core, PS does not believe in growth at any cost. With a strong foundation rooted in values, culture and brand, PS believes in balanced growth, building for the long-term, and diversifying for resilience.
PostScriptum derives from the Latin expression, meaning ”written after.” A PS often contains something personal, powerful and insightful – a final note with a lasting impact. Our PS is not an ending. Instead, it represents what we leave behind: a contribution to tomorrow’s AI footprint, and a legacy written not just for now, but for what’s yet to come.
