PostScriptum launches today with the ambition to build generational AI companies and digital category leaders with AI at the core.
After AI professor and researcher Peter Sarlin launched Infolytika Ventures in 2013, the company spun out AI platform Silobrain to create Silo AI in 2017. In 2024, Silo AI was sold in Europe’s largest AI acquisition to AMD. Infolytika Ventures is today reborn under the name PostScriptum, or PS, with more resources, a strengthened team and an updated brand. PS aims to supercharge the pursuit to drive state-of-the-art AI and AI-first companies that transform and create new business with AI.
PS is dedicated to supporting, building, and investing in digital companies for them to reach their full potential with AI. PS focuses on activities that span three different categories:
(i) super-angel investments into the most transformative AI startups,
(ii) minority investments in digital companies for them to become AI-first and reach their full potential, and
(iii) building technology that pushes the boundaries of state-of-the-art AI.
Former Microsoft Finland and Silo AI CFO Patrik Pehrsson takes on the role as Managing Director, and University of Turku professor and Silo AI co-founder Kaj-Mikael Björk takes on the role as Head of Research. In addition to current Chairman Peter Sarlin (currently CEO/co-founder of AMD Silo AI and CVP at AMD), the board of directors is strengthened with Markus Mannström (former Stora Enso CTO/EVP) and Johan Kronberg (former PwC CEO/CoB and Silo AI co-founder). To level-up its activities and invest more capital towards AI-first companies, PS plans to strengthen its leadership and board of directors, with plans to grow the team to 10 people.
While still under construction, early investments include companies like Europe’s fastest growing company Lovable, Europe’s leading legal AI company Legora, near-future quantum algorithm developer QMill, and spreadsheet foundation model builder Prior Labs. PS also supports the wider ecosystem directly and indirectly through funds like Project Europe, s16vc, QuantumLight, Inception Fund and Illusian.
PostScriptum is the founding sole donor behind Foundation PS – a non-profit initiative to strengthen Finland’s and Europe’s AI research ecosystem and competitiveness. The initial donation of 13 professorships to the ELLIS Institute Finland forms the PS Fellow network.
While putting state-of-the-art AI at the core, PS does not believe in growth at any cost. With a strong foundation rooted in values, culture and brand, PS believes in balanced growth, building for the long-term, and diversifying for resilience, with the aim to grow and thrive in good and bad times.
PostScriptum derives from the Latin expression, meaning “written after.” A PS often contains something personal, powerful and insightful – a final note with a lasting impact. Our PS is not an ending – it represents a contribution to tomorrow’s footprint, a legacy written not just for now, but for what’s yet to come. It represents what we leave behind.
